LOW POLL NUMBERS A GOOD SIGN FOR AMERICA
People may be slow but they're not stupid.  A new CNN poll
shows President Bush's popularity is now at only 32%.  A
whopping sixty percent say that they disapprove of his job
performance.
To me it's good news!  I think it's
encouraging that so many citizens are starting to take a
serious look at what's going on. We've been in a state of
denial as a country for too long. From the UAE port deal to
the immigration issue, Americans are waking up and an
awake electorate is no friend of George W. Bush.

Isn't it ironic (don't you think) that Bush ran as a Uniter (and
decider) not a Divider.  He is getting very close to fulfilling
that promise by bringing together all kinds of Americans who
bemoan his Presidency..

MONICA BLOWS DOWN UNDER
"It's got a perfect
circular eye, it's right at
the top of a category
five range, so it's a
very, very severe
cyclone."
Having spent most of my life in Florida I am all too familiar with Hurricanes.  So I worry for the folks in Australia who
are now preparing for their second major storm of the year.  Cyclone Monica is a high category five storm and is
threatening the city of Darwin.  I know a few people in Australia, but no one from Darwin.  Nonetheless, I am hoping
for the best for them.

It was Earth Day this weekend and it was pretty much washed out by the rain here in New York.  I was planning an
event at work for the weekend but the foul weather and subway issues really messed things up.  On the subway the
Q line, which I take into Brooklyn was shut down on the weekend.  That means riding buses!

I had not ridden a bus here yet and was in no hurry to do so but the situation was unavoidable.  Overall, it was
slower than the subway, but the buses here are actually quite clean and comfortable.  Plus, you can look out the
window and push that magno-strip thing that lets the bus driver know your stop is next.  I have always loved doing
that, especially back in the day where you had to pull a cord.  It only "dings" on the first pull (or now, push) so you
have to be quick.  That was pretty much the highlight in the 2+ hour commute each way over the weekend.
