When I saw this picture of President Bush in a border patrol car taken earlier this week, I was reminded of Michael Dukakis and his photo op disaster in 1988. The Republicans, of course, viciously ridiculed him. Their hypocritical silence now is deafening .

It seems that the suffering we're experiencing for having a President living in a fantasy world,
will continue. Despite the many needs of this country like repairing hurricane damage,
solving immigration problems, and homeland security, President Bush, with a religious-like
zeal for trickle down economics, has signed more tax cuts aimed primarily at the rich.
To justify this, he does what all conservatives do - claim that trickle down works for
everyone. Of course since they are usually the ones doing the trickling (or not doing it)
they would naturally hold that belief.
When it comes to the economy, we are constantly asked to believe Bush rather than our
own eyes. If you listen, conservatives will claim that any economic good (even during the
Clinton years) was a result of Republicans. They will also blame Democrats for any bad
news ever seen in the economy. Laughable, yes, but they have been doing this with some
success, since the Reagan years.
The wealthy will continue to support the GOP and their tax policies. But will they be able to
hold their lower class voters? It depends on whether they start believing their eyes rather
than what they are told. If they feel like they are having riches tricked down their way - they
will continue to vote Republican. But if they realize it has been a steady stream of hot piss
coming down from the giants of Red America, they will certainly turn against them.
While sitting in the reception area for
a computer related job interview, Guy
Goma was mistaken by a BBC intern
for IT expert Guy Kewney, who had
been invited in to discuss the legal
battle between Apple Computer and
Apple Corp.
Goma was whisked off to have his
face powdered, before being
interviewed live by consumer affairs
correspondent, Karen Bowerman, who
soon realised the error. Mr Goma,
said he was "traumatised" by the
experience.
Wednesday's New York Times
reported on a study of subway
cleanliness. I certainly have
not ridden on all the lines so it
was interesting to see how the
lines I do ride compare with
others.
I frequently ride the 1,2,3 and
Q lines. Coincidentally that is
how I would rank their
cleanliness with the 1 being
the cleanest of them.
After hearing horror stories
about NY subways for years, I
have fond the subways to be
cleaner and more comfortable
that I expected. I have only
had to exit a subway car 3
times: Once because it smelled
like pee (more than normal);
once because a homeless man
was passed out and smelled
awful; and once because some
scream maniac was killing my
vibe. Other than that it's all
good on the subways.
