U.S TROOPS KILL  ZARQAWI
ABCNews reports that the US air strike
came after a three-day operation, and US
forces had been following him for two hours
as he was being driven to the safe house.
They then dropped two 500-pound bombs
on the house once he was inside.

ABCNews also reports Zarqawi was badly
injured when he was found by US troops. He
then died from his injuries, and his body was
handed over to Iraqi police.

Top Senate Republican accuses Vice President of seeking to
undermine wiretap probe
"I was advised yesterday that you had called Republican members of
the Judiciary Committee lobbying them to oppose any Judiciary
Committee hearing -- even a closed one -- with the telephone
companies," Specter wrote.

"I was further advised that you told those Republican members of the
Judiciary Committee that the telephone companies had been
instructed not to provide any information to the committee, as they
were prohibited from disclosing classified information.

"I was surprised, to say the least, that you sought to influence -- really
determine -- the action of the committee without calling me first," wrote
Specter, who again threatened to issue subpoenas to compel
witnesses to testify.

He added, however, that he hoped to avoid "a constitutional conflict
between the Congress and the president."

The Geico apology over lunch
One of the funniest of all commercials on TV right now.
The "cave men" truly look and act insulted.  My favorite
part is when one orders "The roast duck with the mango
salsa", just to prove how cultured he is.  The glares, the
clothes, the snorts of indignation all work to make the
cave men hilariously believable and this commercial an
instant classic..
