Getting out and about I am realizing just how much wireless technology has spread.  Every airport I have been on this trip
has had wireless and of course the hotels Internet service was much appreciated.  In fact as I turned on my computer on
the plane I got the message that wireless networks were found.  But we were told to turn off the wireless part of our
computer so, not wanting to cause a problem, that’s what I did.

It was a great little getaway.  I have written already about the wedding in Tampa.  It was much better than I expected.  Not
only was the wedding and surrounding festivities a lot of fun, but I got to meet and reacquaint myself with some very cool
people.  From the poker tables to the rides around the city, I had a great time with the guys who were there.  Most of us met
each other for the first time but quickly came to find enough in common to turn it into a weekend long buddy movie.  I
expected to be happy I went to the wedding but was pleasantly surprise to have had so much fun.

The trip to Miami was also really great.  We have family dinners down there during the holidays and whenever I am able to
visit.  It is always one of the highlights of the trip.  It was the first time however that, instead of greeting people as they
arrived at my parents house I was the one being greeted. Typically I get there a day or so before the big Sunday dinner.  
But this time I flew in on Sunday afternoon so the gang was all there.  It was cool to walk in and have everyone already
there.  After hundreds of family dinners at my parents, it was the very first time it unfolded like that.

The rest of the weekend was awesome.  I got to spend some quality time with my parents relaxing and catching up.  I always
feel so invigorated after visiting home.  I have the best parents ever and it is always great to be able to spend some time
with them. It is always tough to leave but definitely worth it considering how much I enjoy the visits.  I sure hope I can return
soon.

Thursday it’s back to work and back to the regular New York City routine.  I can’t say that after a week in sunny, green,
spacious Florida I am looking forward to it - but I am not dreading it either.  I did manage to relax quite a bit in 6 short days
and will return to the City tanned, rested and ready to go!
07.08.2006 10:03pm  The wedding was really wonderful.  David and Susan are deeply in love and their happiness filled the
weekend.  They are now on their way to the Bahamas.  I think a little card playing is coming up and another attempt to
download the music library. I fly down to Miami in the early afternoon.
07.08.2006  1:44pm     Man, yesterday was a long day.  I dozed a bit on the flight into Tampa, and took a 45 minute nap
when I got here but besides that it was a 23 hour day.  That on top of a lack of sleep all week.  I was a zombie yesterday.  
Nonetheless, I had a great times at the rehearsal, dinner and poker game afterwards.  I actually tried to weasel out of it so I
could get some sleep but it was the de facto Bachelors party and the groom insisted.  While, I didn't win - I had a great time.  
We played Texas hold 'um.  I have played on line and watched it on TV but never with real people at a table.  I did quite well.  
My only big loss was an attempt to leave about 1:30 am where I bet where I knew I shouldn't have.  I won quite few hands and
went "all in" a few times each time winning the pot.  Hey- I actually bluffed for a big win!  Finally around 3:15 we called it quits.
I will have to do that again.  For a $40 buy in it sure can provide hours of fun - if you are lucky.  Also I got to know the DJ for
the party and he let me download his music collection - all 13,000 tracks.  I will be "iPod'ing" to the max! (UPDATE:  Now it
seems the download didn't take.  Boo hoo)  Now it's time to get ready for the wedding and reception.
07.07.06 12:10pm  Well I made it to Tampa safe and sound.  The hotel even has free wireless!! The early morning flight was
quiet and I got to watch a dvd on my laptop.  Last night I was surprised by a gift of an iPod!  Thanks Sarah!!  I only had a
couple of hours last night to play around with it but I already have 150 songs and 1 video.  This is going to be awesome!
Time now for a quick nap before the rehearsal dinner tonight followed by a poker game.  Saturday afternoon it's off to the
church for the wedding and Sunday down to Miami to see the family.  It's going to be a great weekend. I'll post more later as
time permits.
