DOZENS OF CIVILIANS,
AT LEAST HALF
CHILDREN, KILLED IN
ISRAELI AIR STRIKE
The US State Department
has dismissed as
"outrageous" a suggestion
by Israel that it has been
authorised by the world to
continue bombing
Lebanon.
Israeli Justice Minister
Haim Ramon made the
suggestion after powers
meeting in Rome refrained
from demanding an
immediate ceasefire.
The Israeli Justice Minister was a little too honest in a comment today and the Bush Administration is in a familiar "deny
the obvious" mode. The minister stated that after the recent visit by Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice, they have the go
ahead "from the world" to keep on bombing Lebanon. Of course "the world" in this case means the Bush Administration.

It is a bit surprising that an Israeli government official would openly admit it - since they must realize that America is run by
those who exist in their own personal fantasy world. Let's get real. For the first time in my memory, we have a Secretary of
State who cavalierly waves off all talk of cease fire and encourages military action which is kills civilians daily.  This
administration still believes that war solves problems and Rice is promoting that philosophy everywhere she goes.

But the surprise of this story is the outrage suggested by Rice's spokesman. Believe it or not he is trying to make the
world believe that no "green light" was given to Israel. I suppose the phrase "Israel you have the green light to continue
bombing your neighboring countries" was not uttered by any US official.  But once again the Bush administration is asking
us to believe the unbelievable.  Are we really expected to think that the Bush administration wants peace right now?  That
they are an unbiased broker in the middle east?  That they did not give a subtle but unmistakable OK to Israel for this
military action?  That's just nuts.  Of course we gave them a green light, why lie.  How condescending it is to hear an
administration official deny the obvious.  No one except the truly lost will believe them and it can only do more damage to
our international effectiveness to have something so blatantly dishonest suggested as truth.

KOFI ANNAN ACCUSES ISRAEL OF DELIBERATE
BOMBING OF UN POST IN LEBANON
UN Secretary General Kofi Annan today said he
was "shocked" at Israel's "apparently deliberate
targeting" of a UN post in Lebanon, in which up to
four UN observers were killed.

Mr Annan described the strike as a "co-ordinated
artillery and aerial attack on a long established and
clearly marked UN post."

He said it took place "despite personal assurances
given to me by Prime Minister Ehud Olmert that UN
positions would be spared Israeli fire."
ENDLESS LOVE
It is sure nice to have my home Internet
back up and running.  Things in the City
have been pretty crazy with thousands still
without power and the heat driving
everyone else crazy. I just keep telling
myself that everyday is one day closer to
the cooler weather.

Here is another video featuring our
beloved President.  Here he "sings" to his
snuggle bunny Tony Blair.

As usual you should pause the video if it should "stop
and start".  Give it a minute to load and it will play in
it's entirely.
