HEY JOE!  CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?
Favorites
I wrote very briefly about this the other day but let me elaborate a little bit.  As you all know the Joe Lieberman / Ned
Lamont face off in Connecticut was big news.  It was really a major story for bloggers who are credited or blamed for
Lamonts victory.  While I posted some stories on it, I was personally undecided even up to election day.  I have always
respected Joe Lieberman and certainly support the concept of working across the aisle.  As the old saying goes you
"make peace with your enemies - not your friends." However, Joe's continued support of the war and his oh so close
relationship with George W. Bush made me think that maybe - just maybe - Lamont should be the nominee for the
Democrats.  I was just glad that I did not live in Connecticut and was able to stay undecided.  Until I heard
this.

On the morning of the Democratic Primary it seems that Joe Lieberman got a phone cal from Karl Rove wishing him
good luck.  For me that was the deciding factor!  I can see sticking with the war effort if you were for it from the start.  I
don't necessarily agree but it is understandable.  I can also see why he would want to work with the President - even
this one - for the good of his state and the nation.  While George W. Bush is probably the worst President ever, I can
appreciate the desire to try to work together to find common solution to our common problems.

But if you are so close to this administration that you get "lovey dovey" phone calls from Karl Rove - then something is
very rotten indeed. As I see it, Karl Rove is part of an elite group who have divided this country and brought us to the
brink of civil war.  (Others include Rush Limbaugh, Pat Robertson, Rupert Murdoch and Lee Atwater). These people
have used their immense intellegence and talents to purposefully divide the people in this country and fill the hearts of
Americans with hatred toward each other.  There is absolutly no reason for any Democrat to take friendly phone calls
from Karl Rove. Rove is not an elected official.  He is only a political hack willing to destroy anyone or anything to hold
on to power.

It makes me really wonder. Why is Rove calling a "Democrat"?  Why is Lieberman taking the call?  How frequently do
they chat? What the hell is going on? I am no longer ambivalent about Joe Lieberman.  He is not simply cooperating
with the other party - he is dancing with the devil.  Joe sold his soul and rightly lost his election.

And look at the quote here. It's an appeal to out of state contributors for his independent bid for his seat.
More than a little ironic considering his telephone habits.

It is sad and ironic to me that back in 2000, I was in Tallahassee supporting the Gore / Lieberman team and
condemning the "Sore Loserman" talk.  It was a bogus argument in 2000. This time though, Joe is indeed a sore loser.
His run as an "independent" is all about his ego and his lust for power. His chumminess with the most divisive person in
Washington today shows me that he has sold out not only his party but his country as well. So if you are looking in on
this Joe hear me loud and clear:  "Go Ned Lamont!"
FELINE FUHRER
I know what you're thinking.  What did you
do to your cat to make her look like Hitler.
The answer is "nothing".  This is not my
cat (who acts like a fascist but does not
look like one). I came across this the
other day on a
website that actually
solicits Hitler looking felines!  This one on
the left was declared the winner.  I can
see why.  If no magic marker was taken
to this puss, then it certainly resembles
Adolf.  Just thought I'd share.

CINDY! PLEASE STOP
By Fred Afflerbach
Activist Cindy Sheehan was hospitalized in Waco on Friday for dehydration and
exhaustion, her assistant said, but she is expected to be released today. A
Providence Health Center nursing supervisor said that she hadn’t received a report
from Sheehan’s physician Friday night but that Sheehan was likely in stable condition.

Sheehan went to an emergency room in Seattle on Thursday for dehydration after
she spoke at the Veterans for Peace national convention, said Tiffany Burns, an
activist leader and Sheehan’s assistant. Sheehan also had been experiencing heavy
bleeding, so Waco doctors performed a dilation and curettage, in which the lining of
the uterus is scraped, and were doing a biopsy, Sheehan’s sister, Dede Miller, told
the Associated Press.

“I’m worried, but I know this is a pretty common procedure,” Miller told the AP.

Sheehan was expected to be in Crawford on Friday for a protest march but checked
herself in to Providence on the advice of doctors. She has recently been on an all-
liquid diet, with the goal of fasting until World Peace Day next month. Burns said she
expected Sheehan to remain at Providence overnight Friday.
