The Red Sox hadn't been swept in a
five-game series since the Cleveland
Indians did it in 1954. The Yankees
swept Boston in five games in New York
in 1951 and at Fenway in '43.
I really can't believe the Yankees swept  five games in a row against the Red Sox  in Boston!!  The first four
games were classics and the fifth game was a gem too. While Boston could certainly come back later this year,
unless they do this series will be an permanent part of baseball history.  The parallels between the 1978 season
and this series have been well documented. I hope the outcome is the same too. Let me tell you right now, I am
one happy Yankee fan!
