While I am very disappointed at the early end to the year, I have to say I enjoyed this season greatly. There is nothing like being at the Stadium to
really get a feel of the team and the individuals who wear the pinstripes. The fact that I could walk there from home in under a half hour only
served to strengthen my affection for this club.
I'm sure I will ponder off season changes for the Yankees and I'll certainly moan and groan over the long winter. But, I have to say that I got my
money's worth from every game and plan to purchase season tickets again next year. Win or loose, I am a Yankee fan, and I will cheer these guys
as long as I have a breath in me.

President Bush, again defying Congress, says he has the power to edit the Homeland Security Department's reports about whether it obeys privacy rules while handling background checks, ID cards and watchlists.
In the law Bush signed Wednesday, Congress stated no one but the privacy officer could alter, delay or prohibit the mandatory annual report on Homeland Security department activities that affect privacy, including complaints.
But Bush, in a signing statement attached to the agency's 2007 spending bill, said he will interpret that section "in a manner consistent with the President's constitutional authority to supervise the unitary executive branch."

I t's another early exit for the Yankees and this year it's extra
disappointing. With tickets to a game in the Championship Series
as well as the World Series, I was prepared to spend my first Fall
in New York seated comfortably inside Yankee Stadium. But
sadly, it was not meant to be.
I did see some excellent games this year including opening day-
where Derek Jeter hit a game winning home run and our first (and
only) playoff victory where Jeter went 5 for 5. I saw Hideki Matsui
break his wrist and saw 'A Rod' boo'ed then cheered then boo'ed
again. I spent 5 hours wandering around a wet Yankee Stadium
waiting for a game to be officially rained out. I saw Yogi Berri and
the other old timers gather for their annual reunion. I also drank
some cold beers, ate some delicious hot dogs and engaged in
some interesting conversations while spending many afternoons
and evenings watching the games from the stands.
