“I don't know. How do you define ‘winning’? The fact is, in taking on the war on terror -- let me put it this way, the President has made it obvious, we're going to win.

Is U.S. Winning in Iraq? Tony Snow Says, "I Don't Know"
|
I went to the drug store the other day to get some tiny things for my
upcoming trip to Chicago. You know, tiny toothpaste, tiny shaving cream
and so on. When I went to get some Advil Cold and Sinus there was only a
card in its place directing me to get it at the pharmacy. I took the card
toward the back where I seemed to remember the pharmacy being. There I
saw a line - 8 long - of senior citizens. Well, I have spent enough time in
South Florida to recognize that a line of senior citizens at the pharmacy is
not a fast moving process. Irritated I took my stuff back to the tiny section of
the store and stormed off mumbling something about not having to stand in
line at PathMark.
I was wrong. It's the law!
Yes, I know that is how Red America is in this sad point in our history. I just expected Donna Shalala to rise above it. Sadly,
she has chosen to allow the criminal mentality that characterizes the U.M. football program to continue. Shame on you Donna.
I have always had high respect for Donna Shalala. As a cabinet official in
the Clinton administration, she did a fine job of running the Department of
HHS. When she was chosen President of the University of Miami a
number of years back I thought it would be good for a school that I had
grown up near - but learned to hate over the years. Unfortunately, this
highly educated professional has "gone native". Her near complete
acceptance of the abhorrent behavior by Miami Football players a week
ago has put her firmly in the camp of the very worse that the University
stands for.
The University of Miami football team is an embarrassment to the
University. Has been for years. Even when they were actually compiling
impressive records and NCAA championships, their behavior
encapsulated everything that was wrong in American society: disrespect
for others; arrogance at the first sign of success and a lack of
accountability when things go wrong. Shalala had the opportunity after
the latest incident to do the right thing - fire the coach, cancel the rest of
the football season or, better yet, end the UM football program all
together. Instead, she seems to have put finances over everything else.
Her lax reaction to the on field riot by her players only encourages more
thuggery and shows young people across the country that inappropriate
behavior is alright, as long as you can produce a revenue stream.
PENTAGON PROPAGANDA PROGRAM OK'd BY PENTAGON

A U.S. military propaganda program used in the Iraq war was legal under the rules for psychological operations, a Pentagon investigation has concluded.
